We start at a decent time in the morning and first visit the crocodile pool in Bakau. If you follow the instructions from your guide, you can pet a crocodile and still have 2 hands afterwards. Quite often you will also see some monkeys here
Next stop is a Gambian family. A Muslim family: father, 2 mothers and 19 children. Unfortunately even for Gambian standards they are very poor. Of course they receive a little income from our visit. This is a picture of the main wife preparing a meal for the children that are home. In Gambia there is no hunger, even the very poor have enough to eat.
We then drive through a wilder part of South Gambia all the way until we reach Paradise beach, where we have our lunch in a Gambian restaurant on the beach. After lunch there is time to rest and swim, or to stroll along the beach.
Next we drive over a nearly totally deserted white beach all the way to Tanji. Tanji is the largest fishing village in The Gambia and you will see many small fishing boats just off the shore. We will see how the Bunga fish is smoked and maybe have a bite.
